Question about carbuying: I go to chevys site, choose a car I want and configure it and I get a price that includes delivery fees and told to “get a quote”. If I have to get a quote, what’s the point of the price it just gave me? Is there further negotiating to be done with the dealership? Could I actually get a car cheaper than the $13585 that the Chevy site says? I’m wanting to get a base model 2015 Spark 1LS manual in bluuuuuuueeeeeee but only if I can keep my payments in the ~$200/mo range.

Does it say if the price on there includes destination and all that? I assume “get a quote” means figuring APR, trade-in (if any), tax/title/license, etc.

Is there a way to get out of destination charges? If it is cheaper, I’d gladly pick it up at the factory.

I would think there's room for negotiation since the website prices are all based on MSRP, right? If all other fees are already included online, then it's a matter of seeing how much below MSRP you can get, I think.

That is my thinking as well. I might speak to the GM of the dealership later today and see what he says about this stuff

On the other hand, I suppose the quote option also gives the dealer an opportunity to get you extra security features like VIN etching or some other extras like undercoating or the electronic rust inhibitor.

Yes, that’s exactly what it means:
BTW never negotiate on monthly payments, negotiate on the actual purchase price! Otherwise, they’ll mess w/ the interest rate and amortization to make those $200/mo add up to a much higher figure than is necessary.

Why would you buy a Chevy Spark when you could get an Abarth for pretty much the same price?

Awesome, thanks!

Have you considered the iA too? It seems to be a much better car for not that much more money:

$13000 abarths? What?

All the reviews I saw say the new Spark is far better than the smart or scion offerings

Bruh why would you get a Spark 1LS when you can get an actual LS?

I hope you are not confusing the iQ with the iA, the iQ is similar to a smart and the iA is a rebaged mazda 2, still you get much more standard equipment in the Scion, bigger trunk and better fuel efficiency.
Still if you really like the Spark, go for it!

The spark is definitely itely more attractive, and I don’t know if I could bring myself to own a scion

2015s are around 16k, 14s are around 13-14k. You can get a 2012-2013 for between 10-12.

You could probably source the parts to convert it back into a Mazda2, or Demio as it’s called in some markets.
But still wont make ti a hatchback.
